Other: API Allow /state to Get State for Built-In Connectors

According to the documentation:
https://fivetran.com/docs/rest-api/connectors#retrieveconnectorstate
... one may only retrieve state for "Function" or "Connector SDK" connectors.
This seems to be a weird oversight. Are there any plans to add this functionality? The lack is putting a serious hitch in our orchestration plans.

State retrieval is meant to allow developers to overcome an error in syncing by moving cursors via this PATCH endpoint: https://fivetran.com/docs/rest-api/interactive-api-reference/connectors/modify-connector-state
Can you describe what you're trying to do from an orchestration pov?
