Connector Improvement: Update Source Shopify Connector API to latest version and keep it updated more regularly

Currently, when we extract data from Fivetran for Shopify Connector, some extra columns that are on version 2024-04 are not available because fivetran currently tracks on version 2024-01.

For example, a soft delete column named "isRemoved" was added for ShippingLine object was on version 2024-04: https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/2024-04/objects/ShippingLine

This column because is not currently available on Fivetran makes us to not be able to handle soft delete records where backend uses that column, leading to show deleted records or duplicates in our data warehouse if they create another ShippingLine with the same identifier of the soft deleted record.

The version 2024-04 for Shopify API was released on April 1, 2024. Given we are on the month of August, it has been 4 months that the Fivetran Shopify Connector is using an old version.

When Shopify API version 2023-07 which was released on July 1, 2023, according to Fivetran release notes for shopify connector, it was updated to the latest version March 2024 which was using before that 2023-04 Shopify API version. That is a waiting time of 8 months.

I need feature request of:

1. When is the ETA for releasing the latest updated version for Fivetran Shopify Updated Connector? We cannot handle soft-delete rows due to that. Its already 4 months out of date. How many months old are we still be using the old version? Is there an ETA date when it will be up to date on the latest Shopify API version?

2. Will there be an SLA for future Shopify API versions that get updated for Fivetran connector, the maximum time it will be out of date? According to latest release notes, the last update kept the Shopify API version within Fivetran to be out of date for 8 months.

This is taking a lot of maintenance time on our end with the issues due to using the current 4 month old version of the Shopify API within Fivetran.

We created support ticket previously with Fivetran and they strongly suggested us to open up a feature request to update the latest version of the Shopify Connector API for Fivetran to expedite the process.

Please assist us on this feature request.

    Thank you for reaching out regarding the feature request to update the Shopify Connector to the latest API version.

    We understand the challenge you’re facing with handling soft delete records due to the missing isRemoved column in the current 2024-01 API version. At Fivetran, we typically perform API upgrades every 3 months. We're currently working on upgrading the Shopify Connector to API version 2024-07. This update is expected to be completed by October 2024.

    We recognize that the current API version delay has impacted your data handling. Going forward, we are evaluating SLAs for API version updates to ensure that such delays are minimized.
