Connector Improvement: Fivetran Email Connector - Syncing empty columns

Hi! Putting in this feature request to add functionality to the Fivetran email connector to allow syncing empty columns from the source files into the destination database. Right now, if a particular column is empty in the source dataset, Fivetran does not even create a column for that in the destination, due to which we can't see a full picture of the source data inside the destination tables(s). Thanks!

Hi Aneesha, thanks for submitting this request! A column in the destination is not created till we get data for the source column as we are unable to infer a data type. As we are considering alternate solutions to this problem, how do envisage this working without Fivetran being able to infer an accurate data type?

Hi Parmeet. Thanks for responding. To answer your question, what if we use varchar as the data type for the empty columns in the email attachment, since it is a universal data type for ingesting any kind of text/numerical data? Please let me know your thoughts.
