Connector Improvement: History Mode / Change Data Capture (CDC) for Connectors with Data Lake Destinations

It'd be great to have "History Mode" / change data capture (CDC) for connectors whose destination is a data lake. The chances of our team using data lake destinations falls to near zero because CDC isn't implemented.

Is there a reason CDC isn't supported for these destinations?
