Connector Improvement: JIRA Users Complete LIst
AnsweredCurrently the JIra connector only pulls in users that have a jira story assigned to them. We have users in JIRA that do not WORK stories in JIRA but do other things like approve timesheets, submit hours, etc.
Can we please get this connector updated to include ALL Users found in the JIRA connector.
CURRENT PROBLEM:
We currently only sync users to the USER table if they're associated with the issues or projects we've synced and meet any of the following conditions:
- The user is the lead of a project.
- The user has reported an issue.
- The user has created an issue.
- An issue has been assigned to the user.
If you'd like us to support all users, I would recommend that you submit a Feature request

Hi Theresa,
Thanks for submitting this feature request. Can you explain what your use case is to have all users?
Thanks,
Frank

Hey Frank,
Yes the use case for this request is we have is fivetran does NOT pull in all users from Jira. Instead, they only pull in users that have been assigned, or worked a Jira Software ticket. This means we cannot look up the Jira ID in the users table for these employees as they don’t exist in that table, so we can’t see who they are. To fix this, we have simply been temporarily assigning these employees to a ticket and then waiting for the Fivetran Jira sync to happen. Once that completes, that use then shows up in the user table, and we can remove them from the ticket. Please let me know if you need more clarification.

I did submit a feature request. Isn't that what this thread is about?

Hi,
Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your request. We previously attempted to sync all users for JIRA cloud. However, in some cases requesting all users would take a significant amount of time and cause syncs to fail. We will re-evaluate if there is a change in APIs and update you if we pick this up in the future.
Best, Frank
