Connector Improvement: Ability to add table to multiple groups

We need ability to add tables to multiple table groups. currently we can add table to a single group only. This is challenging as we don't take transaction log backups on our sybase systems and cannot have multiple channels/captures running.

Please can we have this feature to have table added to multiple groups.

    Ankur,

    The table group is a logical concept designed to simplify the creation of actions for a channel.

    You can create actions across three different dimensions in a 3-dimensional matrix:

    • For all channels, or a specific channel.
    • On the location dimension, for all locations, for location groups (default SOURCE and TARGET), or a specific location.
    • On the table dimension, for all tables, for the table group, or on a specific table.

    The action then has a scope for the cross section of dimensions.

    To simplify the UI we chose to limit a table down to one table group. Unfortunately this simplification forces users to create groups for the lowest level of granularity at which actions should be grouped across tables, knowing that the lowest level of granularity is table level. With groups at a lower level of granularity there is some duplication of actions.

    However, we feel that the duplication of actions does not weigh up to the extra complexity we'd introduce in HVR with multiple table groups, so have no plans to allow tables to be part of multiple groups.
