Connector Improvement: Using new API version for Criteo connector

Hello!

As detailed in Support Case 194797, the current version of Criteo's API is not returning all the adsets that it should because of an API limitation. Specifically, the error message it returns is the following:

This version of the API does not support our newer renewal periods.

I spoke with Criteo's support and apparently only the newest version of the API supports the newer renewal periods. While this version (2024.04) is currently in a Preview Beta state, it should be available starting from April 2024: https://developers.criteo.com/marketing-solutions/v2024.04/reference/searchadsetsv24q1#

Would it be possible to update your connector so that it uses the new version? This would make sure that the dataset returned by the Fivetran connector is complete and includes campaigns and adsets created with the newer renewal periods.

    Hi Everyone,

    Currently, the new API version (2024.04) is in Preview Beta and was expected to be officially available in April 2024 but it still isn't. We tried manually calling the 2024-04 API but did not receive the required response, so we tried the beta version.  We cannot support the beta version because it is still in development and subject to change, which could cause significant disruptions. 

    We are waiting for the official release of 2024-07, which we hope will be very soon. Once this is implemented, we will be able to switch to the new one.  However, until it is out of Beta, we will not switch to that version.

    We are closely monitoring the situation and are committed to updating our connector to utilize the new version as soon as it is officially released. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards enhancing the Criteo connector to better meet your needs.

    I need this as well! It seems like they are all on the adset metric tables but the actual adset table is incomplete so I can’t relate all adsets back to their campaigns for example.

    Thanks for raising this feature request. Here, are the differences we have found while comparing the 2023-10 and 2024-04. While comparing and testing out, we didn't see any new attributes associated with newer renewal periods, as you mentioned.

    Could we get an example response for the entire dataset, including campaigns and adsets created during newer renewal periods? This would help us understand what you need and what we are missing.

    Hello!

    You are correct in saying that there's no new attributes associated with newer renewal periods, the problem is a different one: the old API version will simply NOT return ANY data associated with adsets that use newer renewal periods.

    e.g.:

    adset 123 uses older renewal periods: API returns data
    adset 345 uses newer renewal periods: API returns the aforementioned error: This version of the API does not support our newer renewal periods.

    I don't think there's any need to add or remove any attributes compared to the ones you're using now, I believe it's simply a matter of changing the versions from the current one you're using to, at least, the 2024.04 one.

    we need to migrate to the latest endpoint version, i see that we are using endpoint version v2023-10. Can we get the endpoint version changed to v2024-04?

    Is there any news about this? The Criteo connector is still broken and the functional version of the Criteo API (2024.04) is now in Stable status: https://developers.criteo.com/marketing-solutions/reference/searchadsetsv23q1.

    Would it be possible to update your connector and make it work again?

    If we don't get Adset table, the entire connector is useless!

    Campaign table that we get through the current connector, can't be joined with any other table and campaign table only contains dimension!

    Adset table is the only table that can be joined between campaign and adset stats table that makes it easy to analyse the data!

    Upvote - this issue has caused our Criteo connector be to unusable. We have to seek out other vendors.
