Connector Improvement: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance connector: get additional information on level of entity

Hey fivetran community, 

I requested a improvement for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance connector in Ticket (#177209). The support suggested to open a feature request. 

We are using the connector of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance to get information from there. All works fine with the connector atm, but we get data only on level of table. We need additional information on level of entity. There should be an option, because in our source (Azure Data Lake Storage / ADLS) there are information on level entity. It seems, that information of entity is represented as (DB)-views, which refer to relevant tables. Therefore we need also this views in addition to the tables.

Response from Fivetran:
"Currently, the connector is set up to retrieve data exclusively from the table_folder, and it does not sync entity data. The focus is on fetching data specifically from the TABLES folder, stored in .CSV files."

    Hi everyone,

    Closing this request as it was referring to our legacy connector. To sync entities you can use our new Synapse Link connector and enable entities in Dataverse. See documentation here for more details.

    Thanks for raising this request. You are correct that we currently do not support entities. Just curious as to why you are looking to pull entities rather than tables which can be used to create the same data represented in the entities?
