Connector Improvement: Xero: authentication improvements
AnsweredWe're currently in a situation where we can't set up new Xero connections since Fivetran changed its approach to authenticating. Following the connector setup instructions results in the creation of an "uncertified" Xero app, and trying to authorise the Fivetran connection with that app gives an error saying that can't attach more than 2 uncertified apps to a Xero account.
There are two uncertified apps are in use by different systems needed for day to day operations and can't be removed to make space for the uncertified Fivetran app we just created.
It'd be great if Fivetran could offer an alternative authentication mechanism to account for cases like this. Previously Fivetran used to offer Xero setup via its own certified app, but that appears to no longer be possible. Xero also offers a paid connection option (https://developer.xero.com/documentation/guides/oauth2/custom-connections/) that covers a few countries.
Alternatively some advice around resolving this situation in the setup docs would be great.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for reaching out with your feature request. Xero's recent pricing changes have necessitated adjustments to our authentication mechanisms, and we're actively working on this. We will provide further updates in the coming months as we progress on this matter.
Best,
Sandeep
