Connector Improvement: Enable synch of .json files containing metadata - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Connector

We are using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Connector and are missing some metadata for the source tables (especially containing the translation of enum values). These files are stored in the data lake in the same folder as the related source tables but as .json files. We would like to get them synched by Fivetran as well which is currently not possible as they only synch .csv files.

    Hi Magdalena, 

    As an alternative for that file you might want to explore our Azure Blob connector to see if you can load that specific JSON directly.

    As of right now we are only working to support CSVs. Can you help me understand why you need these files and are there any alternatives to capturing that data in the source in CSV?

    Hi Frank,

    thanks for your comment. As mentioned above, we would mainly need them to "translate" enum values in some tables. In the raw data, for some columns, we don't get the readable values but only numbers. Currently, as a workaround we have created a hard-coded file to then translate the numbers into their readable values which long-term is not a good solution.
