Connector Improvement: Sync Parent Table without Child Table

For some connectors, we don't need all the data, just specific tables.

Those tables have children's tables, which we don't need. But currently there is no way not to sync those children's tables and not be charged for them.
So, we come up paying for a lot of data that we don't need.
Please make a change so that you can sync a parent table without the child.

For example, Shopify Order table, we don't need all the child tables to under it, but are still being charged for them, even though we deselected them.

    Hi all,

    Sadie from the Product team. I understand that this would be a valuable add to the Shopify connector. We are monitoring demand, but I don't have a timeline for you right now. In the meantime, can you share which tables specifically you would like to be able to deselect? Each set of tables may have different API patterns, so it's helpful to know what's most important to look into first.

    This would be game change for is as well. It cost so much MAR for nothing it's such a waste. This feature is absolutely key on Shopify connectors.

    Hi Sadie,

    For shopify, one of the most critical one would be the Order table.

    The Order table has definitely been the most painful in terms of MARs. I must say we found it much more rewarding to develop our own code for extracting data from Shopify, rather than incurring the high costs of unnecessary tables through the Fivetran Shopify connector.

    Completely agree. The child tables of the abandon checkout table are killing us on MAR, while we have no use for them.

    I most likely will disable the order sync as the MAR is too expensive for data that is not used. I use the order data but the tax_line table, which is a child of order, is 50% of the total connection MAR. We do not use this data and thus find no value in paying for MAR.

    Oh man - I was so excited to try FiveTran for Shopify, but its so disappointing to have to process such a huge amount of unnecessary tables!

    If anyone has any recommendations of alternatives who let you sync the order table only, it would be great to know!
