Destination Improvement: Customizable Column Name Translations for Fivetran to BigQuery Integrations
CompletedI've been experimenting with Fivetran to sync spreadsheets, and I've noticed that when the spreadsheet's column names are in Japanese, they seem to get automatically machine-translated. The resulting translations, which look like Chinese Pinyin, get transferred to BigQuery. This makes it really difficult to understand which column corresponds to what.
Is there a way to work around this issue? For example, is there a way to add a custom dictionary or a feature to freely set the column names to be transferred from the UI? If you can provide an answer, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Masahiro,
Great news! We are working to add customizable column name translations. Please note that many database connectors already support source naming, ensuring that schema, table, and column names are replicated exactly as defined in the source system, for more information please check our documentation: https://fivetran.com/docs/connectors/databases#sourcenaming
I am curious to learn more about your use case. Are there particular requirements regarding naming conventions or how you would prefer to manage column mappings?
We will keep the community updated on this thread as we review and make progress on this enhancement.
Best,
