Following an incident were salesforce connector schema objects were disabled and then enabled again. See #154477. We realised that the state of existing syncs is lost when the objects are disabled. As a result of this behaviour we spend the better part of five days restoring syncs required for critical reporting. A frustrating and agonising experience. 

It would be fantastic if the state of connectors object syncs was retain for at least 5-7 days in order to not incur large delays in the restoration of syncs. It would also be good to provide a reasonable expectation of the progress during Historical Syncs. So that data consumer expectations can be managed.
