Connector Improvement: Google Ad Manager connector improvement request
AnsweredThis is an improvement request for the Google Ad Manager connector.
Some background first
We have a need to do nightly pulls from the Google Ad Manager (GAM) API to retrieve meta data for things like GAM orders, line items, creatives, creative templates etc. Under our current process, each of these types of data gets pulled from the API and saved into a table. Then, to get a useful data set, we join that data to GAM’s ad serving logs which we pull from a separate source and also load into tables. For example, a record from the GAM logs will have only a creative ID in it to indicate which ad creative served so we need to join to the creative table pulled from the GAM API to get things like the creative name, size etc.
Our feature request
We'd like a way to pull just the meta data, without any metrics, via the Google Ad Manager connector. In other words, we don’t want to pull GAM reporting data. Instead, we want to pull the raw meta data objects. The way the connector is designed, it doesn’t look like it’s useful to us because:
- It only offers a small subset of the objects the GAM API offers
- It requires we pick a metric in the ‘columns’ drop down, which we aren’t interested in because we don’t want to use it as a reporting tool. We get all our metrics by pulling the raw meta data objects, joining them to the GAM logs and then aggregating the results.
Thanks!

Hi Bryan, Drew from the product team here.
Thanks for this request, I've added it to our backlog for now as it is a rework of how the connector functions. I'll update here when this work is prioritized.
