Other: HVR Switchtable utility needs enhancement to remove this message ['Processed 1 expired 'trigger' control file.] earlier than happening now (takes 6+ hours)
When a user triggers hvrswitchtable utility to switch a table between two channels you would see this extra message:
Processed 1 expired 'trigger' control file.
While the control files that got created in source and target channels are gone as soon as the first time integrate jobs on source and target channels are activated.
But this message 'Processed 1 expired 'trigger' control file.' keeps coming as it appears to be cached somewhere in the load hvr clients....
The message should disappear as soon as the control files get removed from the channels.
Need clean documentation on Switchtable utility.... Nowhere in the documentation there is description about the control files and what should be done for a smoother switching of tables across different HVR channels.

Mukul,
The message 'Processed 1 expired 'trigger' control file.' is typically output once at the end of the first cycle during which the trigger is processed (knowing that the cycle duration is dynamic based on the amount of data processed). Is this what you observe? If it is then the software work as designed. If it is not then I recommend you file a regular support ticket because I suspect we then have a bug.
Please note that we did not port the hvrswitchtable capability to version 6. We want to build a better way to move tables between channels but this is not currently scheduled.
There is no plan to enhance the capability for HVR 5.7, with regular support ending at the end of 2023.
Thanks,

Hi Mark,
As you said:
"Processed 1 expired 'trigger' control file.' is typically output once at the end of the first cycle during which the trigger is processed"....
We are not seeing this behavior ... What we see is this message [Processed 1 expired 'trigger' control file] appears multiple times when the integrate job for target channel gets enabled ( assuming we suspend the integrate job after the current transactions get processed). This message continues to appear multiple times even after all the control files are removed from the channel/control folder.
Thanks,

Mukhul,
It sounds to be that things don't work as designed. Can you please file a regular support ticket for this rather than an enhancement request? Please upload an integration log along with the support ticket.
Thanks,

Hi Mark,
I already opened a support ticket earlier for this issue -> ticket link.
Let me know if you need a new ticket or I can re-open the same ticket again.
thanks,

Could you please file a new ticket and highlight that you repeatedly get the warning? The repeated aspect of it would be a bug. Then please share a lot file on the ticket that shows this behavior.
Thank you,
Mark.
