Connector Improvement: Facebook Ads: Full Sync for ad_creative_history object
AnsweredHello,
the Facebook Ads connector loads an object called ad_creative_history. That object contains information about creatives of an ad. Part of that is a column called thumbnail_url that points to an image that is used for the ad itself. For us, it is very helpful to be able to display that image in a report so that users can quickly identify specific ads that they are searching for.
However, the URL that is returned by the API is only valid for a limited amount of time (couple of days). To get a new and valid URL, one has to re-query the API for that specific creative. To my understaning, after having talked to your support, you are performing a full load on that object every sync anyway, given there is no possibility to incrementally load that object. Nonetheless, the object is not fully updated in our source. According to your support (case 146227), that is done to prevent large MAR usages.
Nonetheless, that information is very valuable to us. Would it be possible to add an option to fully update that object on every sync run, despite the increase in MAR usage?
Regards,
Jan

Hi Jan,
This feature is not currently on our roadmap. We use feedback and upvotes to gauge demand for requests, and each upvote on this posting helps strengthen the case for future development.
To help us better understand and potentially prioritize this improvement, could you share more details about how a fully updated
ad_creative_historyobject—especially the refreshedthumbnail_url—would impact your reporting workflows or business needs? Thanks,
Alison
