Connector Improvement: Salesforce Tooling API for Field Metadata
AnsweredWith the proliferation of the reverse ETL space and your partners like Census. I think there is a chance to support these workflows with the SFDC tooling API
Salesforce recently added additional metadata on all fields such as Data Owner, Data Sensitivity Level

If these can be exposed to a warehouse via Fivetran it can help with understanding what fields are critical downstream

Hi Ben,
Thanks for writing in!
Looks like the SecurityClassification field offers the following:Type
picklist
Properties
Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort
Description
Indicates the sensitivity of the data contained in this field.
Valid values include:- Public
- Internal
- Confidential
- Restricted
- MissionCritical
This field is available in API version 45.0 and later.
This is a very interesting type of data, and I agree that the use case you've mentioned is a growing and interesting one!
Could you share a bit more context/detail around how having this metadata available could be specifically useful to you?
For now, I can promise that we'll take it under consideration to see how Fivetran can best support these new metadata. In the meantime, it would be great to to see some upvotes and use case information from others viewing this thread!
All the best,Ray Harris

This would be super helpful for helping to monitor the health of our org. Would love to be able to spin up a quick dashboard on how many fields are properly documented per object.

Hey Ray, as people begin to develop layers of their warehouses with varying levels of access I feel like having SFDC SMEs manage this and having it dictate what goes where in your warehouse or even sent outside of your warehouse (Census) it would be valuable!
