MariaDB on RDS connector: Disable automatically adding new columns to sync

I would like to be able to restrict new columns in the source to be automatically included in the sync to the destination. Partly because I don't want a resync to drive up costs and partly to ensure control that no sensitive information end up in the data warehouse without me knowing.
