Connector Improvement: Send Alert When Replication Slot Fails

When a replication slot fails, it means data in our warehouse will be incomplete. We want to be proactively notified of this type of failure as we don't want to waste time discovering this error by debugging freshness check failures or downstream user complaints of missing data when we can easily know the root of the issue with a simple alert. Missing data errors, especially silent ones, erode customers' trust in data systems.

A warning already appears on the Fivetran dashboard for replication failure. Please make this easier to use by creating an alert we can subscribe to. This will help us retain our customers' trust and our trust in Fivetran.

    Hi Shruti, 

    Thanks for raising this point with us – I completely understand that finding out about a data issue from downstream users is less than ideal and as you note, erodes trust in the system. 

    You'll be happy to hear that we are working on giving users the ability to subscribe to warnings. If you were to have this, would you be happy for this notification to come via email, like errors currently do? Or how would you like to receive this information?
