Connector Improvement: GDPR Compliance for Email connectors
Hello,
Currently your email connector uses an s3 bucket to permanently store all email attachments. I'm referring to this document: https://fivetran.com/docs/files/email
Which states: "NOTE: The email attachments are permanently backed-up in an internal S3 bucket to preserve the re-sync functionality."
This violates GDPR requirements governing PII data as this can not be stored indefinitely.
An improvement would be to optionally disable this permanent storage (and lose re-sync functionality) so that this connector could be used without Fivetran storing customer data.
Another (less attractive) improvement would be to implement an automatic data purging feature to clear out connector data from the s3 bucket.
Thanks

Hi Alastair,
Thank you so much for reaching out. Can you tell us more about the usage that you are hoping to give our email connector?
Security and compliance issues are important to us so we will be getting this onto our roadmap.Regards
Alison
