Question
Why does Jira connector require read and write access?
Environment
Jira
Answer
With JIRA, read permissions is the minimum permission level needed for a 3rd party data ingesting app like Fivetran to read active issues data. However, the read and write Admin level access is needed per the Fivetran connector configuring user account to be able to capture data for deleted JIRA issues.
Read and write access enables Fivetran’s JIRA connector to grab deleted issues and related entity data across the connector schema via the webhook endpoint.
Cause
To capture deleted issues, the connecting user must have administrative permissions. Otherwise, Fivetran cannot register the webhook.
