You want to ensure that data lives in a single, consistent region as it is synced from your source to your destination using Fivetran. This could be for a couple of primary reasons:
- Security and Compliance (for example, to GDPR)
- Minimize latency
To make sure that your data remains in a consistent region for database connectors, your source and destination database servers as well as the Fivetran processing server must be in that region.
When you set up your destination, we give you the option to select the region of Fivetran servers used for processing your data. We support servers in the following regions:
Follow the instructions in our Data Processing Location and Cloud Service Provider documentation to choose your data processing location.
Regions can contain multiple zones within them (for example, “us-east-1”). Fivetran supports choosing a processing location at the regional level.
